Context
A team was coordinating operations across multiple spreadsheets and manual reports, which made ownership and current data difficult to verify.
Challenge
The project needed a single system of record, role-based access and reporting that did not depend on manual file updates.
Constraints
Existing tools still had to feed the new system, and adoption had to be practical for non-technical users.
Diagnosis
The primary issue was not data volume. The team needed a reliable operational model, clear permissions and automated reporting.
Architecture
The platform uses a Laravel REST API, MySQL as the system of record, queue workers for reports and a React front end with role-based views.
Technical decisions
Laravel, MySQL and React were selected because they are maintainable, widely understood and appropriate for the required workflows.
Implementation
The work included API design, authentication, roles, reporting jobs, dashboard views and integrations with existing operational tools.
Integrations
Existing systems were connected so data entered the dashboard without repeated manual copying.
Testing and QA
Reports were checked against the previous spreadsheet process during a parallel-run period.
Deployment
The dashboard was released behind role-based access while the previous process remained available during adoption.
Results
Manual reporting was replaced by structured, current operational data. Verified figures are available under NDA.
Engineering notes
Automation is most effective after the system of record, access model and reporting definitions are clear.
